Required blog

One site I have found to be a great addition to any science, biology, and math class is, www.nasa.gov. This is a free government web site that features a wide variety of web based tools to enrich any science assignment or project. This is an innovative way to get students and teachers excited about math and science.
They even have daily updates from astronauts aboard the International Space Station, 220 miles above earth. In addition they have a daily video and gives kids the opportunity to ask astronauts on the station questions. It goes something like this:

Hey there! Welcome aboard the International Space Station. My name’s Greg Chamitoff. I’m the flight engineer and science officer for Expedition 17. And this idea here, Ask the Crew, hopefully will be a good way for me to interact with everybody down there on beautiful planet Earth. So, submit your questions. Someone will organize them a little bit, send them up to me. And I’ll do my best to give you some answers. And so, we’ll be talking to you.

Some of the middle and high school student grades can work on mathematical design challenges. These challenges help students achieve personal goals in science, mathematics, and thinking skills. They also have a student educational program that describes mathematical algebra and its relevance to aerodynamics and space travel. And I thought that was only on the movie Armageddon! Through the site tutorials students are able to see some of the real value of algebra. They also have lessons on proportion using the moons shadow.

I think this is a great site for kids, adults, and educators of every level. This is a good way to supplement any assignment.
